Frequently Asked Questions

Who is the course for?

This course is for anyone who wants to explore the deep questions of faith, life and God in a relaxed setting. The material comes from a Christian perspective, but all perspectives and backgrounds are welcome. Alpha shines when the discussion is free-flowing, respectful, and real.

When is the course being run?

We are starting on Saturday September 25 and running for ten weeks, finishing on Saturday November 27.  We start at 10:00am with brunch and run until about 12 noon.

What does a typical evening look like?

Each session will be hosted by our Alpha team. We begin by introducing ourselves and having an introductory chat, then we all watch a video together, and then we have a discussion on the topics raised by the video. Each session lasts about 90 minutes.

What if I decide it’s not for me?

If you come to Alpha and decide it’s not your thing, or it’s not a convenient time, that’s fine! You can feel free to drop out and, if you wish, join a future course.

Who created the Alpha Course? The Alpha Course started at a church called Holy Trinity Brompton (known as HTB), London, in 1990.
