What an amazing weekend we had at Thirst 2015!
For two days, we enjoyed the glorious weather on the stunningly beautiful Sunshine Coast. Without a hint of rain we were able to make the most of the great facilities at Camp Sunrise, whether that was swimming in the pool – or the sea; eating al fresco at the picnic tables; enjoying fun and games with volleyball, frisbee, and the Looney Olympics; or winding down on a cool evening with some musical entertainment at the Thirst Open Mic!
There were plenty of opportunities to meet and get to know new people – with 175 people gathered from Trinity Central, Redemption Hill and some guests and old friends visiting from overseas, there were lots of new faces to familiarise ourselves with!
Amongst all the fun and fellowship, we also had fantastic times of worship. Gary and Barb Gallant led us into worship each meeting, teaching on different aspects of worship such as the role of silence before God. Jeremy and Rhys brought excellent teaching, bringing relevant messages to us from the stories of Joseph waiting for the fulfilment of God’s promises in Egypt, Jonathan and his armour-bearer, and Jesus rejected in Nazareth.
During the worship it was exciting to see many people being filled with the Holy Spirit, some for the first time – including our children! Prophetic words were brought for individuals as well as for the churches corporately. God was present and active among us at Thirst!
The weekend came to a triumphant conclusion with six baptisms! Chris, Brizi, Michelle, Jazzy, Zach and Eden all wanted to publicly declare their love for Christ through baptism.
We went to Thirst 2015 expecting great things, and we were not disappointed.
